Who am I
I’m Micke, the person behind Lizerd. I’ve been building electronics projects for over 20 years — starting as a kid taking things apart, then learning to put them back together in more interesting ways.
My journey began with PIC microcontrollers in the early 2000s, building things like custom infrared controllers for the XBOX. Over the years I moved on to STM32 and more complex embedded systems. These days my bench is usually covered with PCBs, stepper drivers, and whatever project I’m currently obsessing over.
What I build
I’m drawn to projects that combine hardware and software into something that actually does something useful — or at least something interesting. Some highlights:
- StepMaster — a compact programmable stepper motor controller, built for a motor company
- DIY Pick and Place — a high-speed component placement machine with camera vision, custom motor controllers, and three nozzles. Still in progress. Probably always will be.
- Motor Thrust Test Bench — STM32-based sensor rig for characterizing brushless motors
- Soldering Station V2 — because off-the-shelf wasn’t good enough
- Lego Segway & Homemade Segway — PID control experiments, from LEGO to full-size
Integrated systems are my main interest — where microcontrollers, sensors, power electronics, and mechanical design all have to work together.
About this site
This site has been online since 2001, originally built with static HTML, then rebuilt on WordPress. In 2026 it was migrated to Hugo with the Stack theme. The old projects are still here, marked as “Classic” content. New projects and blog posts will be added as they happen.
